Mothers Day as a childless woman.

Hi Readers,

May has already been a very emotional month for me so far, for quite a few reasons.

Sunday May 1st saw us honour those who have lost children for National Bereaved Mother's Day. A day very dear to my heart.

The 8th of May was Mothers Day in Australia. A day normally challenging enough for me; as a mother who lost her only child after many years on infertility, IVF treatments and loss.

However, the 8th of May is also very significant to me as on this day 12 years ago my son, River, was unexpectedly born at 23 weeks gestation and also the da5 he passed away.

Then a few days later on the 11th of May it was a day for celebration of a different, but related kind.

For this day was my first Bookaversary. Marking one year since the release of my new book: The Baby Dream - Learning to Live with Infertility and Loss.

A story that depicts my journey through infertility and loss, meeting River, my grief healing journey and advocacy work supporting other on their grief journey as a counsellor.

We are only half way through the month but already so much has been happening I thought I would share.

I hope you have all had a gentle start to the month and if it has been emotionally taxing for you, as it has been for me, I hope you can find moments to practice self-compassion and be kind to yourself in this time of great change, transformation and healing.

With Mercury currently in retrograde and mother nature sending the rains again in Queensland it feels like a time of duality - a time for rest and also a time for transformation. So please rest when you can in order to recharge for the next challenge.

Until next month.

Much love and blessings,

Narelle πŸŒΊπŸ™.
